WHY ESTRADIOL

Estrogen production declines over time. Estradiol can help restore it.

HOW ESTRADIOL WORKS

Replenish estrogen.

Restore vitality.

Estradiol works locally on vaginal tissue. This can support tissue health, sexual function, and urinary health.

Estrogen delivered locally

Estradiol cream is applied directly to vaginal tissue. It absorbs locally, with decreased risk of elevating estrogen levels elsewhere in the body.

Healthy pH restored

As acidic pH returns, Lactobacillus can thrive again. This protective bacteria may help ease dryness, painful sex, recurrent UTIs, and incontinence.

Tissue revitalized

Vaginal, urethral, and bladder tissue absorbs estradiol locally. This can help restore epithelial thickness, moisture, and acidic pH.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Questions, answered

What is estradiol?

Estradiol cream (generic for Estrace®) is an FDA-approved topical estrogen prescribed for certain symptoms related to menopause, including vaginal dryness and painful sex.

How do you use estradiol?

Estradiol cream is inserted into the vagina using the included applicator. Your doctor determines the dosage based on your needs and medical history.

What are the side effects of estradiol?

The most frequently reported side effects are local irritation, burning, itching, vaginal discharge, and occasional spotting. These are typically mild and tend to appear in the first weeks of use, resolving as the tissue adjusts. Tell your doctor if side effects persist or feel disruptive.

Who shouldn't use estradiol?

Estradiol cream should not be used by people with a history of hormone-sensitive cancers (such as breast or uterine cancer), as estrogen exposure can increase the risk of recurrence. It is also not recommended for people with unexplained vaginal bleeding, a history of blood clots, stroke, or active liver disease. Your doctor will review your full medical history before prescribing.
